well actually i didnt add a 4th device, just a 3rd. I did it like in the pdf you posted and it worked. And i also have a remote v4.
But i noticed, that it seems different to program the 4th device button (obviously via device select protocol, page 8 of the howto). Did you follow these steps? |

The Dreambox V4 with signature 10381038 doesn't have a slot for the 4th device. You probably have to use some type of device code multiplexor protocol to switch the device setup code in one of the 3 device slots. |

i think this is what the author of the pdf i posted, mean.
Quote: | Programming a fourth device
As you might have noticed, when you add a MACRO, there is only one AUX available.
So how are we going to program a fourth device ? Using a trick (device select protocol). |
but i dont understand it. its in chapter 4.2 of the pdf.
if anyone understads it, maybe he can help me?

The PDF instructions won't apply to a V4 remote. The V3 remote had a 4th device slot but no physical button associated with it. The PDF suggested using a KeyMove to access the 4th device slot. |

If you were to look in some of the other Dreambox RDFs (specifically the OUKAOUK1 and ETPSTPS0 versions) you'll notice that even though there are only 3 physical device buttons on the remote there are 4 device buckets. The section in question looks like this...
[DeviceButtons]
DREAM = $00A $00B
TV = $00C $00D
AUX = $00E $00F
OEM = $010 $011
So, without a physical device button, not a "phantom key" device button, they had to come up with a way to select the 4th device button, and this is the stuff that you have been reading.
However, if you look at the same section in your remote (in the 10381038 rdf) you'll notice that there isn't a 4th device bucket...
[DeviceButtons]
TV = $00A $00B
AUX = $00C $00D
DREAM = $00E $00F
So, any method that the other guys came up with to select the 4th device won't work for you as you don't have a 4th device. _________________ Rob

There isn't a Device Multiplexor for the v4 remote at this time, but it's possible that someone might write one in the future. _________________ Rob
