8820 extender multiroom setup

If, like me, you have several devices in different rooms but like to use one remote (or clones of one remote throughout the house) then you will probably have filled up all eight "real" device buttons as well as the two hidden ones on the 8820. You most likely also have the bedroom TV assigned to AUD or some other non-intuitive button.

I have created an IR file here that is an attempt at using macros and Device Muliplexor to change groups of device buttons to match any room in the house. There are mistakes in it and it doesn't work flawlessly yet but if anyone with an 8820 (or who wishes to adapt the idea for, say, the 8910 or any other remote with similar extender function) is interested and has time on their hands this festive season then please have a play with it and feed back here. Great idea has run into problems. It seems that when a macro calls VCR and then tries to change its setup code using Device Multiplexor that the PVR button gets its code changed even though the poor old PVR hasn't been mentioned anywhere.
