I own two Atlas OCAP 30333033's.

I made an RM file for the OCAP so that I could easily add key imports to the cable box controls.

Here's the challenge I ran into.

I attempted to learn the Day signal from one OCAP to another. IR told me that it was a Panasonic (old) using device 28 and OBC 15/16.

The signals work when they are learned, but...

I set up RM so that it was using Panasonic (old) with device codes 27, 28, and 30.

I set up the Day +/- keys as:
Code:

NAME   EFC   EFC5      Device   OBC      Hex
Day+   133   00133      28      15      F1
Day-   074   00074      28      16      09

The problem, though, is that these don't send the Day +/- commands. They send the '7' or '8' button commands.

What could I be doing wrong?

After this much time on the forum (over 100 posts), you might realize that a question like this will always get you questions in return, like:

(1) upload your learned function IR file - appropriately annotated - to the diagnosis area;
(2) upload your upgrade file (KM or RM) - appropriately annotated - to the diagnosis area;
(3) upload your misbehaving IR file - appropriately annotated - to the diagnosis area;
(4) instead of (1) through (3), you can zip them all together and upload the zip file too the diagnosis area;
(5) Post a link to your uploaded file(s) here, and somebody may be able to spot an error.

Razz

I was hoping for a quick "Ah hah". I figured that this was something that someone may have run into.

The RM file was already uploaded:

The Learned Signal dump can be found here:

Check in IR to make sure you are not using Alternate keyboard, or whatever that setting is called. If you started out with a new IR file, instead of the one that was downloaded from the remote, the Alternate keybord function gets turned on and it scrambles the keys from upgrades.

I don't see that as an option on my OCAP in IR.

Are you using the Atlas RDF's that Capn_Trips created? I don't think these have been rolled into the main RDF's? I think most of those have settings for Alternate Keyboard. We found this setting in the JP1.2 remotes, but I'm pretty sure it was found in the JP1.3 remotes as well. This alternate keyboard problem is really wierd. As you change the upgrade #, you know the one we always say doesn't matter, it shifts the keys in more and more as the upgrade number changes. I'd have to look, but I'm pretty sure I read that this is a problem for the JP1.3 atlas.

I guess this remote doesn't have the alternate setting. Read this thread for more information.

I don't see anywhere where you stated what cable box you were using...

It doesn't matter. I was trying to map out the 1877 default setting.

I actually solved my problem. A dump of an unprogrammed/unaltered OCAP had a device upgrade for 1877 preloaded into the upgrade memory.

If you had said that at the beginning, someone would have told you it was there.....
