UEIC upgrade has 5-digit EFCs; I have a 3-digit mind

I am working on a move from a trusty Cinema7+ to (two) URC-10820s. While I was waiting for a JP1.2 programmer I sent one of my new remotes to UEIC for upgrades. The one for a Yamaha RX-V659 tuner amp (0376) has me stalled. I would like to copy the upgrade to my other remote but have never encountered 5-digit EFCs before.

I use KM9.10 which wants the EFC to be less than 1000. What's the math there?

Is there a magic way to grab the data that IR.exe downloads from the upgraded remote and plug it into KM?

I have 'learned' the buttons from the original Yamaha remote and the results bear little resemblance to the UEIC codes; and don't work so hot.

Thanks for any/all help. I do this so rarely that I seem to forget what I learned last time. <sigh!>

There are so many things I don't understand about your question that I can't begin to provide any answers. You should be more specific about what you have, where information came from and what you're trying to do.

If you have your JP1.2 cable you should post some .ir file(s) in the diagnosis area. We would like to see in a .ir file those learned signals from the Yamaha remote and the upgrade from UEIC. Looking at data in a .ir file ourselves is a lot easier than guessing what you really saw from your description of it.

I know you think you want an answer about 5 digit EFC numbers, and you may even get one. But more likely you need some instructions regarding the use of OBC numbers and/or combo protocols.

BTW, I don't mean to sound harsh. I just want to get you your answers faster by avoiding confusion about your situation.

KM will handle either 3-digit or 5-digit EFC's. On the Functions sheet, the is at button to select the proper format.
