All
Got my new toy and decided to look at it with IR. when i upload from remote i get the following error.
BAD CHECKSUM AT ADDRESS $0000 EXPECTED $da $25 BUT FOUND $4b $41.
And two for the price of one, my second question is the remote shows up as a 9960 B01 Kameleon (4k eprom) in ir this exact model is not found in rmaster but there are 8 different selections for remote master which should i select.
What are people thoughts
Cheers
Steve

RM (v 1.81) has the device

URC-9960 B01 One For All Kameleon

available,

This seems to be the right one, based on what IR has reported to you.
(But read my posts below about BJ4/BJ5)

There may be a sticker in the battery compartment which confirms your model.

The other selections ( I see 5, not 8, though Question ) are for non B01, and for when you want to use an "extender" - which presumably you aren't doing = since you'd know if you were Very Happy

I think the EEPROM size only matters to IR - that's why it reports it as part of the description. RM is only building the upgrade, so it doesn't care what size "container" it will eventually be put into.

IR cares, because it has to put all your upgrades, keymoves, macros etc... into the 4k available.

eta: see below for possible clues with the checksum error - it looks like setting the "Force >=4k" option in IR could help you...

For the checksum error, see if the info in this thread:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8216&highlight=checksum

is relevant, or helps

It looks like a similar problem.

Maybe:

The 9960B01 does have some "odd" issues with it depending on which EEPROM is in the remote. Try the "force >= 4K" button on the general tab of IR and that should do the trick.

is the solution ?

Also, digging a bit deeper - this thread

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7865&highlight=checksum

seems to indicate it would be a good idea to make sure it really is a B01- and not a BJ4 or BJ5 - again, looking for stickers with model number may help you.

Regardless, it looks like the "Force >=4k" option could probably help
