Which interface cable do you have? JP1 or JP1.x?

Actually, I think the 1067 is a JP1.2 remote, although I'm not sure. If so, the battery tricks are not the problem.

Its more likely that
the wrong cable is in use,
the JP1.x button is not selected.
The correct driver hasn't been downloaded.

But I don't know, these remote numbers are pretty difficult for me to keep straight.

The 1067 is a jp 1.2 remote so shouldn't need any battery tricks.

I'd guess the most likely problem is the wrong cable or bad cable since the JP 1.x cables seem to be pretty reliable otherwise.

I bet he's using a JP1 cable, which would explain it.

That's the same problem I had with my Comcast URC-1067 - I had bought a JP1 cable (USB) from DIYgadget, which of course did not work with my remote (they were great about returns).

The design for the JP1.x interface is HERE.

There are several different processors in the UEIC/JP1 family. Your 15-2133 uses the older, original JP1 interface, which works with your JP1 cable. The 1067s use a newer processor that has a JP1.2 interface. This processor will NOT work with the JP1 cable. You need a JP1.2 cable. Read all about it here.
