now when I open ir.exe all thatappears is the general tab and Raw dat tabs all theo thers are missing how do I make that come up again
plus how do I procced from making a raw file to a final ir file I can actually use then
it appears too complex
and in Remote Master 1.79 there is no provision to setting up default folders where the upgrade files already are just always reverts back to its own search folder folder first
and the code mark sent does that mean the entire line with Upgade and End as well besides the code

In IR click: File, Set Directory, RDF Path..., and then select the folder where your RDF files are stored.

You don't need to reinvent the wheel since the files Rob linked to earlier are upgrades for your device.

Yes, copy it all and paste it into IR. It's all explained in the JP1 how-to that was also linked to earlier.

Yes, it means that you choose the Devices tab in IR, then click Add

In the new window that appears, paste ALL of Mark's code:

Code:
Upgrade Code 0 = 14 1A (VCR/1050) dlink 320 (KM v9.08)
5A 00 D8 9E A3 20 EF 98 E8 46 6E 4E 89 5D DD AD
69 49 2D C7 00 3D 6B 08 07 D7 97 47 77 57 17
End

It will fill in the top box, and the Device type, Setup Code, and Notes

{image link deleted - Rob}

Then click ok.

Incidentally, and here I'm trying to be helpful, not rude; a little punctuation, capitalisation, and spellchecking would help people understand your questions better, and make it more likely you'll get good help. I had to read your last post 3 or 4 times just to understand what you were asking.

Jim

Did you assign the new upgrade to a device button on the General tab ?

Go to IR's General tab and set the device button you want to control the dlink to VCR/1050. Upload to the remote.

edited to add: Sorry I posted the image after you answered, Mark, I was too busy working out how to link to it and you posted in the meantime...

I had the same thing happen and I couldn't get rid of it, I ended up having to kill the IE session from the task list, so I've deleted the link from the previous post.

Sorry, I put it in a passworded area by mistake - I didn't get the problem when I viewed it because my password is cached so I was never asked for it.

Apologies for any inconvenience it caused anyone.

Do you have the OEM remote that you can learn the signals from?

I suspect Mark asked because whatever upgrade you're using have the functions not mapped to your liking or the functions are entirely missing.
If you have the OEM remote, you can learn the codes for the functions you find wrong/missing, and enter them into RM, reassign to the buttons you like, then repush into IR and to the remote.

"OEM" stands for "Original Equipment Manufacturer", so when Mark asked if you have the OEM remote, he just meant "do you have the original remote", and he asked for the reasons that Liz outlined.

chelli1501

Chelli, when I came back to the forum I was very frustrated getting back into it too. I started to write a help file.

Could you read it, and give me some suggestions as to how to make it more helpful?
