Since you have the original remote and a learning remote, you should get a JP1.2 cable and learn and decode the codes you need and build your own upgrade.
You need a cable regardless, because even if there is an upgrade out there, you would still have no means to upload it without the cable. (Technically you could upload it via a wav file, but the cable REALLY gives much more flexibility and the capability to download your learned signals)

Note that you might need to modify the plug (saw the sides off it and glue it to stop it falling apart) or fashion some sort of adaptor as I think the 7780, 7550 etc. have the six JP1.2 pins in the correct configuration but the hole in the plastic case of the remote is too tight to fit a standard 6-hole plug. Even if someone had done an upgrade for this device, you'll still need a cable to upload it to the remote. If what you're after is a setup-code number for the remote then if you have tried other LG ones and there is none listed in the manual then it's unlikely that the manufacturers have hidden one.

Just FYI, according to the RDF, the URC-7780 can use WAV upgrades.
