Is "Anywhere Remote" Compatible with JP1 Remotes?

I bought a couple of Next Generation Home Products Remote Extenders (the spaceship looking thing) (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthre ... did=525861) and can't get it to reliably work with my JP1 8810 remotes. Does anyone know if this thing will work with OFA remotes with JP1 software?

I have an 8810 using JP-1, and it works perfectly fine w/ this next generation product. Have you gone through all of the manufacturers trouble shooting?

Thanks Zellerman. I've been using JP1 7800's for years and am moving to 8811's and the NG devices so as to meet my needs in my new house. I haven't seen much from the manufacturer on these things - their web site is sparse as is the documentation that comes with the product. Do you have a link to its troubleshooting procedures?

I see that you are an old time 7800 user.

Did you happen to see that the 7800 has a newer extender (version 5) with nested macros, X_TV-X_CANCEL commands, x-shift features, and is packaged with DSM, LKP, and the Multiplexor?

Yes Vicky. I spent a week reading as much as I could on this new forum before I posted, and saw the new extender. Thank you! I haven't been JP1 active for years, just minor changes to my 7800's when I bought new AV equipment. The 7800's are getting difficult to find and mine are physically worn out, so I thought I'd try the 8811's.

I used to love writing assembly language (9900) and might start back up with remotes. Looks like a lot of fun, but as with any programming, very time consuming. For now, I can only express my gratitude to those that do.

Hey John,
Did you consider the URC-9910 remote? It's got an RF extender built into it.

Rob, I bought the 8811's from you a couple of years ago anticipating the demise of my 7800's, and didn't think about the 9910's recently when I bought the NG RF devices. Kind of wished I would have looked a little closer - The 9910's look like nice units. Oh well, too late now. Maybe when the 8811's wear out...

Buy the 9910 now when you can, and keep the 8811 as a backup.
