So you tried the Captive Works CW-1000 upgrade in the PVR upgrade section and it didn't work??

I have tried the cs-1000s file and it does not work.

Sorry. the first time I have asked for a certain code. Usually everything I need is here but I guess that this thing is new out and there is no code avaible yet.

OK. I've searched around a little bit, and have figured out that the CW-100R is basically an add-on PVR from Captive Works which usually makes Satellite receivers like the CW-600 (upgrade here).

The CW-1000 upgrade you tried is a combo FTA box/PVR, which uses a custom protocol and pretty clearly states that it is untested, although the protocol is "right" for your 8811. Further, KM will not automatically convert into the HCS08 processor version for your JP 1.3 remote.

The CW-600 upgrade linked above uses the basic NEC1 protocol, so give that a try with either of your remotes and see if that works.

Otherwise, I suspect your likely straightfoward-est way to solve this is to take your 8811 (with fresh batteries) to the store and capture as many CW-100 remote signals as you can and come home and decode them and build your own upgrade.

As you have both JP1 (URC-8811) and JP1.3 (Atlas) remotes can you please confirm that you have at least two JP1 cables (ie, a regular JP1 cable for the URC-8811 and a JP1.x cable for the Atlas.

Can you confirm that you tried the CW-1000 in your URC-8811 remote, not the Atlas remote.

I have tried it on the atlas remote. It didn't work.

I have just finished the regular jp1 cable.

I am trying to get it working with the 8811.

I will work on it some more and post the results.

Ok. I tried the 8811 and it does not work either.

So I tried the JP1.3 with the JP1.3 interface and the JP1 with the JP1 interface and neither works.

Any suggestions?

Statements like this tend to cause confusion. Judging from your previous posts, I take this to mean that the UPGRADES didn't work, but your JP1 cable DOES work with your URC-8811 remote and your JP1.3 cable DOES work with your Atlas remote. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As for the next step, assuming you loaded the upgrades correctly, it means that your device uses a different codeset than those that are in the upgrades that you tried, and without any info on that codeset, there's nothing that we can do. We would need someone to capture the signals from an original remote (using a remote like the URC-8811) and post the results in order to proceed.

I have been looking around in some shops and not many people have the cw-100r. I got mine on ebay. Also, I am not sure that the store owners around here would be kind enough to let me " Learn " the signals. If I am able to get 1 or 2 buttons would that be enough to figure out the code and develop the rest of the buttons?

In all likelyhood, yes. Assuming that all the buttons on the original remote use the same protocol and device codes (which is likely), learning even just 1 button would give us both pieces of information, but you would then be sadled with the task of trying out 255 more EFC codes to see if they do anything, so you'd be much better off learning as many buttons as you can. If you can find it in a store like Best Buy or Circuit City, you shouldn't have any problem learning the signals from an instore remote.

Where would I find info on learning keys with the 8811. I have looked at the manual and it says how to learn the 4 L keys, but how about other keys? Can you learn to those too?

Yes. Same procedure, just press any other key (like "Play" or "2"") you want to learn to instead of an "L" key. There are certain exceptions. I believe that you cannot learn to device buttons, nor to the exit key, but I'm not precisely certain with the 8811.

The person who sold me the cw100r finally sent me the remote. If I record the signals with the urc8811 how do I convert that to a keymaster file so that others can use it?

First things first, learn the signals. Once you've got them learned, post the IR file(s) and let us take a look at them.
