What I'm trying to say is this... Is it possible to assign a function to a key, for example, to change the video source of my TV DEVICE from Video 1 to Video 2, Video 3, etc... but to press it when the remote is in CABLE mode, and have the remote return back not necessarily to the CABLE mode but to the LAST DEVICE SELECTED? for example, if im in DVD mode, want the cable button to change the TV's mode ie video 1-2-3.etc but the remote to be back in the dvd mode.but when in cable mode, it changes the Tv's input from video 1-2-3 but stays in cable mode. etc? Will a Macro do this? or does the key need to be RE-Mapped?
I have a Atlas DVR/PVR-5 from Rogers _________________ Rogers Digital Personal TV

easy to do with an extender, with standard remote you can't do it unless you define a keymove for every device that does the TV input setting. The end result will be the same, but the keymoves will take up more of your memory.
In an extender, for example, the 6131 you could define a key with a macro on it that did:
X_TV, input
This sets the temporary device to TV, does the input command and when the command completes all fo the keysets go back to the device that they were before. _________________ this JP1 stuff is a sickness! |

If you decide to go the keymoves route, which you may find useful in the extender later anyway, bind them all to the same button
something like this
TV/buttonX= TV, TV setup code, hex value for TV input
DVD/buttonX= TV, TV setup code, hex value for DVD input
CBL/buttonX= TV, TV setup code, hex value for CBL input
assuming the TV inputs are discrete values and not a toggling thing.
Considering it's Atlas remote, using extender from the very beginning is more than advisable in which case if inputs is a toggle, unlemiltie gave you the solution.
If you find that some JVC signals don't work in macros, but work from the keyboard, post about it, because solutions already exist. _________________ Liz
