10. Learning remote question? Not available, memory full.

Looking for the advanced codes for (record) and (record mode) For Sanyo DRW500. OFAsupport suggested code 0675 and 1334. 0675 did not work at all. 1334 is not on my remote, can not try it.

You can always save your current settings, reset the remote (or use IR to delete the learned signals), learn what you need from the OEM remote, decode and add them to your upgrade, and then restore your saved settings.

When someone follows the rules and gives answers to all the standard questions, we ought to pay attention to those answers.

(Mark's answer assumes you have a JP1 cable).

All of which I assumed meant JP1 was a given. I even moved the post from the Non-JP1 forum to Code Search.

There is another upgrade for a Sanyo DVD recorder in the file section that uses the same protocol/device codes as the one you were looking at ...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3698

This file has the following codes that you're looking for (plus more, probably) ...

189 record
193 rec mode

Just FYI, you have a learning JP1 remote in your hands, so if you were to get a JP1 cable, you would have a very powerful combination.

Thank you very much for the replies.

I tried code 189 and 193 on my URC8811. Code 193 worked on it, but not 189. One down. All I need is to set up record now. I noticed from codes I received from OFA support the range is significantly higher in some of the functions.

I'm looking at the JP1 cable. I would prefer to program by advanced if it is possible.

I filled the learning to set up two sat pvr using code SAT 0775. The default address is 1 for the first one, but I have a second sat pvr set on remote address 3 to avoid interference. I managed to program 31 learned keys using the tips on hifi-remote.com. The PVRs are Bell ExpressVu 5800 and 5900 (same as a BEV 5100, Dish 501,508 and 510). From the search I did, I think a JP1 cable is needed again to program a different remote address?

Found it. It's 701 for record.

Thank you, I tried adding 256, then 512 to 189.

uhhh... that means that 189 is the correct code. There are only 256 possible function codes for a given device code, and they repeat threafter, so the signal the remote sends for 701 is the same as that sent for 189 and 445.

So similarly for all of those codes that you got from UEIC, if you subract 256 successively from each one until it is a value between 000 and 255, you will have thr true underlying function code.

I STRONGLY recommend that you get a cable, since it will allow you to add upgrades and save all of the learning and keymove space you are currently struggling to keep available.

I took your suggestion and Robman's and bought the USB cable from DIY Gadget. It works very well on my laptop. I've setup the DVD and two Dish/EVu sat PVR receivers on different remote address so far by combining files here.

You're right, Robman, it is a very powerful combination. Thanks all for your work and help.
