Will this work with the JP1.2 remotes??

I am looking at a new computer and it does not have any serial or Parallel port only USB...

I know that I can order(pre built when in stock and kits) JP1.0 USB

But have only seen the newer JP1.2 as serial so can anybody tell me if the following USB -> Serial cable will work? LINK

A JP1 serial cable will NOT work with a USB -> Serial adapter.

A JP1.x serial cable WLL work with a USB -> Serial adapter.
