The URC 6131nw seems to emit a weak ir signal. I have two original URC6131 and two URC 6131nw. The older URC6131 will control the TV, DVD, etc. from about twice the distance of the newer URC 6131nw. I know Rob extends the ir emitter on the older 6131. Is there any tricks to improving the control range from the new 6131?
Thanks
Is there anyway to extend the URC6131nw control distance?

The leads of the IR-LED are long enough on the old URC-6131 that I can easily push it further through the hole to give the remote greater range, but I don't remember there being any slack on the URC-6131N. However, if you were to get a replacement IR-LED you could replace the factory one and use longer leads on yours so you can push it further through the opening.

Replacement iR
Does anyone have a part # for the iR Leds and a possible source? Also, has anyone else experienced a control distance problem with the URC6131nw compared to the original URC6131? Maybe I got a couple of bad units.

IR-LEDs are pretty generic, I don't think you need a specific part number (at any rate, I don't have one).
