RS 2104 Extender1 problem with DTV HR20 Sat Recorder

Post by gsanders1 »

This is my first post to the group, and I suspect I'm more than likely doing something wrong. I've spent hours searching, printing and reading documentation, and have about an inch of paper to show for it......

I have very little experience with JP1 (dating back to programming my RS 15-2104 a couple of years ago), and NO experience with 2104 Extender 1.

The problem I'm having is If I program my 2104 using upgrade "DirecTV HR20 HD DVR.rmdu" Unextended, all keys map to where I expect them to.

However, if I use the same upgrade file to program the 2104 with the extender (installing the extender using "merge using ExtInstall") , digits 3 and 4 are transposed. The weird thing is, even if I do keymoves to try to correct the transpositions, they still stay transposed!

Sample of my problem HERE

The sample file only has keys 0 through 9 programmed (with no keymoves), to illustrate the problem, although some of the other keys also mismapped, which I didn't notice until later.

I'm using RM ver. 1.69 and IR ver 6.20. I downloaded and installed the latest RDF files within the last several days, along with 2104 Extender1

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Gary :)

I don't have my 2104 handy at the moment to test this. Maybe I'll find time tomorrow.

Meanwhile one guess: Did you forget to activate the extender after loading it into the 2104?

Thanks for the quick response......

Yes, I did activate it, following the instructions in Install.txt, by pressing the Power key with the TV device selected. The LED blinked 4 times in response. (Although it wouldn't surprise me that I did overlook something similar. :? )
