We have a "catch22" situation here. You say that you'll only get a JP1 cable if someone provides you with an upgrade, but if you have a JP1 cable, you won't need anyone else to provide you with an upgrade because you'll have the ability to create one yourself.

With your learning remote and the original remote, not having a code posted for download is a better reason to get or build a cable. That way you can learn the codes and build an upgrade. That would even help someone without a learning remote or the original to learn from.

Just a thought.

It's been said above, but in case it's not clear to you, the following answers are inconsistent:

Your 8910 is most certainly a learning remote. The broken modem affects its ability ot accept .wav file upgrades, but has NO effect on its ability to learn IR signals.

As stated above, no matter HOW you approach this, you need a cable - IF someone has the code you need, you need the cable to upload it (since the modem's broken), and if NOBODY has the upgrade for you, you need the cable to download and decode any learned signals to build your own upgrade.

Seeing as how there's no device upgrade in the file section, the odds of you getting one just by waiting around here are pretty slim, so you're better off (and it'll be much quicker) just learning, decoding and building your own upgrade.

Get a cable (buy or build), learn and decode the OEM remote from your unit, and if the beginner's FAQ doesn't get you through the process, feel free to ask questions here and we'll help you build your upgrade.
