I'm using the extender all is well but cannot seem to get the Aux-2 device
to work I am using “p-aux2 v-aux2” and so on, but when I use the macro nothing changes It remains with the last keyset active.
also
Device multiplex bug -- last active device will get executed on device multiplex eg last key pressed = (Tv)-3 Then (sat) device multiplex is executed then (Tv) device will beome new device code.
The work around is to do a macro and call device mutiplex from it with a comand on the designated device first (must be a mapped key)

Also Thanks to the Author It works Great

Hi Chester. I only tested this on the 8820, but I now have a 10820. Unfortunately, I have packed all my remote stuff away because we're trying to sell our house, and a "remote room" wouldn't show too well Laughing , but if you post your IR file, I'll try to look into it. However I might not get to it soon because I have boxes of remotes tucked away everywhere and no idea where the 10820 would be! I do have one suggestion. Make sure that punch thorugh is turned off on the general tab in IR. All testing was done with those off.

Chester, I popped open your IR file, and right away I see your AUX2 button sets everything to AUX2 and then proceeds to reset it t to SAT. So that would probably be why your AUX2 button doesn't work.

Now as far as the multiplex, I think when you describe your bug, you are telling me that when you are in TV and you press your multi-plex key, the TV is being set to the multi-plex code even though the multiplex code is a SAT setup. That would be correct operation.

Hmm. By definition, the sat-multiplex is a SAT key so I wonder how its switching back to TV for the set? I wonder if you could do a very simple IR file and test this to make sure its my bug and not yours. Your stuff is so complicated that its difficult for me to follow even though you did a nice job of documenting your file.

It doesn't really matter which codes. I just want to see the construction of the macro. If its your bug, I should be able to spot it easy enough. If its my bug, then I have to hunt for my equipment, wherever it might be. Rolling Eyes

Chester that's an excellent test file.

So after you reset,
Press SAT
Press M1
Press TV
The Volume buttons no longer work, but they work in SAT mode, indicatiing that the code went to TV instead of SAT.

If press any keys after reset, then press SAT, then M1, then TV, is everything OK?

If that's the case, then it sounds like a register isn't getting reset properly on O_ keys.

the code will go to the device that had the last key press
so if you go to "vcr" and press "1" then goto "sat" and press m1 vcr will get the new code eg."2021"

Have you tried the multiplex for the unextended 10820. It would take more upgrade space, but it should work.

Yes it works normally I was using it unextended until this weekend I bought a 8910 and got playing with it and then seen the A7 extender and tried it out
The extender is working well and the workaround is simple enough. Although
I am finding it hard to believe no one else has had the same issue
Also the AUX-2 device still does not work that test file should show that also
When reset, start the extender, then press "aux-2" the volume buttons are NOT mapped on the "aux-2" device and the tv device has the volume buttons mapped
Did you try the test file?
Did you find the same as me?

Chester, I don't think anyone has tried the extender on the 10820. When I was writing that extender I only had the 8820. I started digging around, and found my 10820, but can't locate my cables, so no, I haven't tried the test file.

I pulled down my source code, and am wondering if at some point I've capped the HT 1 too low. The 0 vs 1 based arrays really goof me up. I'll try to find my cables, to check this out.
