It sounds like another bum interface. If you're not up to working on it and don't have a friend who can, then you need to contact the seller. In my case he offered to replace it. I recall someone else contacting him also about an interface issue, but don't remember how that turned out.
Best,

I have contacted Karamanidis directly on this matter because the symptoms strike a familiar note.

Thanks Jeff,
The seller offered to replace it.
However, I doubt both cables are faulty.
Thats why I ordered 2 in the first place.
U think its worth replacing?
U think the seller has multiple interface versions and sent me the wrong one?
thanks.

Trust us. They are both faulty. Whoever assembled them did a poor job soldering. They also swapped a resistor and a cap.
The retailer is well aware that he's selling units that are faulty. I told him myself, and I told him what to look for. Apparently, he's not testing the cables.
Do we need to put up a warning about the DIY JP1.2 cables until the seller fixes his stock? |

I bought one of those cables and had the same results; it turned out to be the same problem as a few posts up where C2 and R7 are swapped on the board. I got those two parts off and put full sized components in the proper place (couldn't put the tiny parts back on) and the cable worked. I emailed them and they said I could send it back for a replacement.
