Kreatel 1760 STB

Hi @all,

I'm using PAL Slingbox and I want to create a remote for the Kreatel 1760 STB. I am a noob at this JP1, although UE (one4all NL) is practically my neighbour ;)
I've done some reading and I wonder if I am correct: I want to try and read the official remote codes with Girder and a Toshiba Remote control receiver (USB, recognized by XP as Microsoft eHome IR transceiver).
I hope to be able to convert to a bin that I can flash in my Slingbox using the new RDF for IRblaster V4.
Am I sort of on track?

Kind regards..stacker

That way might work, but it would depend on whether you can get some usable information about the learned signals using those tools.

Do you have any One For All learning remotes? If not, could you get one from your neighbour? If so, then all you would need is a JP1 cable, that you could either make yourself or you could buy from one of the JP1 vendors (and most of them do ship internationally).

With a learning JP1 OFA remote, you could learn the signals from the OEM remote and then use JP1 to decode them. You would then use the decoded info to build the Slingbox upgrade.

Alternatively, you could try calling the OFA CS folks there in the NL to see if they already have a code for this device. If you're able to get a code number from them, please post it here and I'll see if I can track down the specifics.

Hi,

do you have one learning OFA to send to NL, a cheapo, asap? For what I read they charge a lot in europe, or is that info outdated..

tnx

No, I believe it's still the case. From what I hear, European OFA remotes are expensive. I can send you a URC-8910 and JP1 cable for $46.50 USD total shipped (that's about 36 Euro).

Hi,

I would just need the 8910.. How much is that, incl shipping, and how do I get the money to you?

The first post in the first sticky thread in the Marketplace section of the forum provides all of the details.

Dunno, I am so far that I learned some codes from my device remote and transferred them into ir.exe.
Most of the buttons are showing: Phase Encoded (RC-Type) . From the howto posted on the SlingCommunity I read that I have to find similar Protocol in RM's setup tab. But, I don't see that Protocol in the pulldown.

What should i do in RM?

PS i use RM1.61 since I couldn't get 1.63 to work, somehow.

It's possible that you have come across a signal that IR.exe doesn't know how to decode. Therefore, you should learn as many buttons as possible and then post your IR file in the Diagnosis Area for one of us to look at.

I uploaded a ir file to the diagnosis area. It's named Kreatel...
tnx...

PLease post a link to your file here, or it's unlikely anyone will bother to go searching for it.

The '0' button was too badly learned for me to be able to figure out the signal, but here's what I got for the rest of them...

Please do learn the rest of the buttons (and use the NOTE box to enter what the real button name is, for the non-standard buttons) and post another IR file.

However, you won't be able to create an upgrade until somebody writes a new executor to replicate this signal.

OK,

I'll learn now, and post asap.. tnx
Does anyone take the effort in building such executors then? If so, and I assume, another complement for this board and the support that everybody gives.. :)

How do I append newly learned signals to an earlier readout from the remote in ir.exe? Otherwise I'll end up with 15 keys per file for diagnosis (thats about how many my learning remote takes)
