1. Device: Siemens Gigaset M740AV
2. Type of device: Digital Terrestrial TV receiver
3. Year: 2005
4. JP1 Remote model: OFA 8060 European Kameleon
5. JP1 user? YES
6. Still have original remote? YES
7. Checked the file section? YES
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? YES
9. Partially working setup code? NO
10. Learning remote question? I want to have a device upgrade because I use the remote with an extender, and learning capability is disabled with the extender. I have learned all the codes, but when I try to do an update, I don't have the protocol. IR doesn't give a protocol just the following:24 bits, MSB value =100110110001000000000100 followed by 24 bits, MSB value =100110110001001000000100 on some other keys the value has 22 bits, and even in others in addition to these two values a JVC2 device 41 protocol code is given. This protocol is not in Keymaster, but I do not know how to create it with Protocol builder, even I don't know if it will work with all the keys. I have all learned data available to anybody that can help.

We would need to see the IR file that contains the learned signals in order to help.

More info on the remote:

I opened the remote and found that it is a ruwido brand.

On the IR chip are the following markings:

N443D
rstep10
ruwido138
16P47AF

Any help to know the IR protocol would be appreciated.

Find the IR learned file on my previous post.

Does any of these siemens codes give you at least partal control?

tv 0191 0195 0157 0037 0556 0361

sat 0173

vcr 0037 0104 0081 0320 0347

If I remember right I have seen that type of learned signals that ended up as pid 00 56.

I looked at your IR file and most of the learned signals seem to mention JVC2, Device 41.

JVC is a mis-diagnosis here. This is a bi-phase signal, where the first send of the signal is different to the repeats, and there could also be a final-send that we're not seeing in the learns. Pmogas, could you do some additional learns using the "short burst" technique rather than holding the teaching button. In other words, when you're learning the signals, instead of holding the Siemens remote button down until the Kameleon completes the learn (which is the correct procedure, normally) could you instead just do a very short press of the Siemens button, and then post a second IR file of learns. We will probably just need a few samples (2 or 3 should do it) you don't need to re-learn everything.

This is a 23 bit MSB signal. It has two 8-bit device codes (values 155 and 16), followed by a 6-bit function code and one parity bit.

Here are the OBCs of the buttons as learned (notice that the STOP and RECORD buttons are the same, as are the PLAY and PAUSE buttons)

01 Num 1
02 Num 2
03 Num 3
04 Num 4
05 Num 5
06 Num 6
07 Num 7
08 Num 8
09 Num 9
10 Num 0
11 power
12 up
13 down
14 left
15 ok
16 right
19 -/--
22 info
23 exit
25 MUTE

30 stop
30 record
31 play
31 pause

Try this upgrade and protocol (formatted for the URC-8060)

Upgrade Code 0 = 0F D0 (Video Acc/2000) Siemens Gigaset (KM v8.36)
FF 00 DE F2 3C DE E1 9B 10 2A 04 0A 0C 12 14 1A
1C 22 24 00 00 64 2C 6A 32 34 3A 42 3C 5A 6C 84
8A 8C 92 72 5C 4C 7C 7C 74 82 7A 7A
End

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) Siemens (PB v3.11)
44 8C 21 8B 0F 87 80 10 08 07 00 84 00 70 00 84
00 70 AD 23 F6 01 46 B6 04 02 B6 29 01 8D 01 46
End

Here's the KM file...

And here's the PB file...

Glad to hear it. I used the generic remote button names in the upgrade, but I'd like to update it to use the real button names from the original Siemens remote. So, could you provide the button information please.

The button information was already on the learned file. I learned the buttons of the Siemens on the equivalent keys on the OFA remote. Even Stop and Record are on the same key, as Play and Pause.
In any case here is the mapping:

Code OFA -Siemens

01 Num 1 -1
02 Num 2 -2abc
03 Num 3 -3def
04 Num 4 -4ghi
05 Num 5 -5jkl
06 Num 6 -6mno
07 Num 7 -7pqrs
08 Num 8 -8tuv
09 Num 9 -9wxyz
10 Num 0 -0
19 -/-- -pip
27 guide -epg
28 subt -?
30 stop -stop/rec
30 record -stop/rec
31 play ->/pause
31 pause ->/pause

Thanks again.

That's unusual, there's usually at least 1 or 2 buttons with unusual names, but that means that the upgrade's in good shape already.

Hello,

I hope that my questions ist not too silly!

I have read the helps I have found and tried all that seems to be possible, but I found no solution. I hope someone can give me a tip.

1. Device: Siemens Gigaset M740AV
2. Type of device: Digital Terrestrial TV receiver
3. Year: 2005
4. JP1 Remote model: OFA URC 11-4282B00
5. JP1 user? YES
6. Still have original remote? YES
7. Checked the file section? YES
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? YES
9. Partially working setup code? NO
10. Learning remote question? NO

I have an remote control called "MF355 RF". Its manufactured from OFA with the model# URC 11-4282B00. And I have an terrestrial TV receiver from Siemens "Gigaset M740AV". I can learn some functions of the original remote control, but the memory is too less to learn all needed functions.

I have found in the file section an KM file for the TV receiver which can be used and is configured for the OFA URC-8060 remote control and I have found in the files section an map file for my remote control for using in RM. The problem now is, when I open the KM file, KM doesnt know my remote control. If I open the KM file with RM, it shows me the correct data so long as I can see it, but if I choose my remote control type there comes up an message that the tells me "The selected protocol "Manual Settings" (01 FF) is not compatible with the selected remote. This upgrade will NOT function correctly. Please choose a different protocol.".

What can I do to correct it?

From OFA germany I have heart, that the codes SAT1657 and VCR1848 will work with my remote control, but because the remote is selled under the name "Conrad" they cant help me to upgrade the needed codes...

Best wishes from Berlin, Germany,
Andreas Krauss.

I've never heard of this remote, what is the exact description that you see when you select it using RM?
