RS 15-2116 Removing Extender

Post by jphone »

I have been uisng Jp1 remotes for some time now (3years) however everything has been going so well I have forgotton how to get rid of the extender code in my RS 15-2116 remote. I have not used it in some timeand want to resurrect it again in standard factory defaults. I tried searcing the forums and found some advise about doing standard Factory reset but this did no work. Also removed battries but that did not work. So any help on how to eset it to factory defaults and get rid of the extender would be appreciate. Regards

Edit: Just remembered to reload standard RDF file for Rs-15-2116 seems to have done the trick. Regards

Actually, the simplest way is to remove the batteries and press any button for a few seconds, and replace them. That will deactivate the extender, but it will still be resident in the EEPROM, and it's unclear how your remote would function. BUT it now allows your "set" (or "magic" or "P") button to function again.

Then if you want to completely erase the EEPROM and restore to factory defaults, you need to do an MFR reset:
(a) Press and hold the "set" button until you get the remote into setup mode.
(b) PRESS THE "REC" BUTTON.
(c) Follow the remaining prompts
