JP1 Remotes

I need the code for a Sony reciever all the codes in the book don't work the reciever. Is there any code out there or is just the learning buttons my only option.

Most Sony receivers now come preset to AV2. Most upgrades and built-in codes are AV1. The easiest thing to do is set the receiver to AV1. Your Sony owners's manual will have that info. Your original remote might not work at that point. The STR-DE698 remote will do both AV codes but probably not the 598.

There is an upgrade in the audio file section for the 598. It is set to av2 but in the notes it tells you what device # to use for either av1 or av2.
