JP1 Remotes

Hi there, i have made an IR cable using a parrallel port and a ir receiver. i have installed porttalk and have decodeir.dll in the same directory as captureir. To start captureir i do it from a command prompt where i type allowio captureir.bat /a. a message is displayed and the program starts fine yet when i press start capture and then press buttons on the remote control nothing is displayed. I have double checked my cable that i made and it all appears to be right. What should i check or what am i doing wrong?

I don't know if this will solve your problem, but on my system, after a reboot, CaptureIR does not work, as you described. What I do is launch IR and attempt a "download fromn remote". This fails, due to the IR cable being connected on the parallel port instead of the JP1 one, but seems to configure the port so that CaptureIR then works.
