Sony LBT-D107 receiver
There is no power button on the original remote. I have tried both variants in the Sony Codes section (079 and 071). Neither works.
I am using device code 0158 in an OFA8811 which controls the other functions. Does a power code even exist?

Have you checked the Sony code library? There's 3 OBC's listed for receivers:

21 = Power
46 = Power ON
47 = Power OFF

I did check 21, not the others.
Thanks

If there isn't a POWER button on the original remote and the standard codes don't work, my guess is that it doesn't support the POWER function.

Does the unit have a push/pull POWER button? If so, it's very unlikely that it supports a soft remote POWER button.

Don't exactly understand what you mean by "push/pull. Just one button - push, it comes on, push again, it goes off.
BTW: this is my daughters receiver.
I have a Sony receiver at home (different, probably newer model) that uses the same 0158 device code, and power does work from the 8811.
I still haven't had the opportunity to try the discretes. Probably tomorrow..
Thanks for the suggestions.

Do you understand the difference between "soft" buttons and "hard" buttons? A "soft" button doesn't stay in when you press it, it just sends a signal to the controller indicating that it's been pressed, whereas a "hard" button (aka"push/pull") WILL stay in when pressed and will come out when pressed again, so you can tell just by looking at it whether it's ON or OFF, just like with a light switch.

If the POWER button is a "hard" or "push/pull" button, it's unlikely that there will be a remote button.

It is hard (push pull).
Too old I guess...
Thanks anyway
