Hi
I’m working on the device upgrade file for the Panasonic PT-AE900.
I learn the signals form the Panasonic remote to URC8910.
In KM I create upgrade file as per:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/help/
Then uploaded it to my Outlaw 990 remote and guess what it is not working.
The protocol used in KM is Panasonic2 (LCD)
The protocol reported in URC8910 was Panasonic2
I’m not sure that those two are the same.
Here is my device upgrade file:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2817
Any help will be appreciated
Regards
Kris

There could be a number of reasons for this not working. It would be helpful if you could also upload your IR files - the first one with the learned signals and then the one after you installed the upgrade but couldn't get it to work.

Couple ideas
You used some beta version of KM, is that OK?
The KM upgrade is for Outlaw, not 8910 - did you change the remote brand? Edited: I gather it should be Outlaw, right?
If one Panasonic2 protocol doesn't work, try the other - ther ought to be two possibilities in both RM and KM
[Panasonic2 (LCD-Hacked)]
[Panasonic2 (LCD-Official)]

You never said really what's not working Surprised
The Outlaw IR file indicates upgrade type is TV. But KM upgrade is SAT. I suspect this would cause problems. Also, but this may be my problem, when I open the Outlaw IR file, IR is objecting that the RDF might have an incorrect learned address except I don't think this file is meant to have learned signals.

Protocol used is 109, Panasonic2 official. Likely OK - but I know too little about protocols to meddle in this one. This needs EXPERTS.

The 8910 IR file containing learned signals: The few learned functions match a projector I once looked at (PT-L6500U), except for the Enter key, assuming that Enter was learned on the Enter button.

Edited: I just saw your thread where Greg and Whompus were making you a new RDF for RM, so ignore my above note about the RDF as I'm using an older set.

Hi Liz,
Nothing is working; I mean there is no response from Projector to any IR signal sent from Outlaw remote.
All other component responds to Outlaw remote. Cable box, DVD, CD, preamp. Etc.

I still think it's device type mismatch. Did you try changing it?

Upload the ir file from the 8910 that has the learned signals in it and put a link to it here.

Does the 8910 operate it with the learned functions?

IF I'm correct that it's mismatch of type, you could just change type in IR general tab , try it, it's simpler than changing the upgrade.

The upgrade file you posted is set for SAT/0392. The Outlaw IR file you posted contains a CBL/SAT/0392 on the Devices tab, but the CBL button is set to TV/0392 on the General tab. Try setting the CBL button to CBL/SAT.
