Read the sticky post at the top of the Slingbox section about how to do this.

Then go to the Code Search section and read te sticky post THERE (The number 1 Code Search FAQ) - linked below in my sig

Finally, or maybe initially, read all of the readme's linked to in the Beginner's forum in the Beginners - Read This First sticky post. (Also linked below in my sig).

After all of that, come back a post a more specific question, please.

I need instructions on how to get the coolsat 4000 pro text file in the file section into the slingbox cfg file of the slingbox so i can get the remote to work. I have found a pansat 2500 rdf file for the slingbox and it works well enough. I have no problem with an RDF file for RM. I just need help putting a text file into slingbox cfg file.

Once again you provide a quite vague question (although I will grant you that it is slightly more specific than your previous one)

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, but presuming you have now read the sitcky post I refered you to in your previous post about the same question, what part of the process are you having trouble with?

Specifically, from the web page to which the sticky post links:

Quote:
First off, you should know whether you have a JU or PL Slingbox. You can figure this out either by looking at your serial number of by checking which version of the IR Blaster you have:
Serial numbers starting with 505 are JU boxes
Serial numbers starting with 507 or higher are PL boxes
Serial numbers starting with 506 could be either, so check the blaster version
To check the IR Blaster version, launch SlingPlayer from your home PC (ie, from a PC on the same network as the Slingbox), then:
View > Slingbox Directory
Edit Properties
Select the Information tab
Scroll down to find the IR Blaster version
2.0 = JU
2.1 = PL
Do you know what kind of SlingBox you have?

Quote:
Download the RM program from the Tools folder.
Download the RDF zip file, and either unzip all of the contents or just unzip the two Slingbox RDFs.
Read this document that describes how to use RM.
Locate an upgrade file for your device from the JP1 file section.
Download the file and open it using RM.
Change the remote to the Slingbox - PL version (or to the JU version of you have the older Slingbox model).
Re-arrange the buttons in the Buttons tab as you see fit.
Go back to the setup tab and check what the Device Type and Setup Code are (you can change them if you like).

Have you done all of the above? Has it all seemingly worked? If not, at what step have you had a failure of some sort?
Quote:
Select "Advanced" menu option, then select "Export Binary Upgrade". This will give you a windows pop-up screen where you can select where you want to save the binary file, you should navigate to the SBAV folder in your Sling Player directory and save it there.
Have you done this? I am guessing, but it MAY be that you haven't read/done this.
Quote:
Open the SABV.cfg file, which can be found in your Sling Player directory, using Notepad or another text editor.
Save a backup copy of it !!!
Find the appropiate section (eg, [SATELLITE.Codes] )
Add an entry like this: Your Device=S1011
Have you done this? If not why not, or what is the problem in doing so?
