I swear I asked this before, and I think I got an answer but forgot what it is. And now I cannot find the post or any section of another, nor the answer using search here with all sorts of ANDs and ORs.
When RM is in the Protocol builder tab there's no way to get out.

I think she means the Protocol Editor (Advanced, Protocol Editior) which is, I think, the RM version of Manual Settings.

Elizabeth, the OK button exits the dialog as does the [X] in the upper right corner.

Yes, sorry, EDITOR is right.
Couple weeks ago I set RM to a Metal look (is kinda cute) and forgot I did it.That's when there is no way out. No uppr right corner to do X=Cancel=Escape. If I were actually doing anything there, OK would force a change would it not?
I really wasn't doing anything other than looking for something I have to answer to Capn and was hunting to where it is :(

The Protocol Editor is really a standalone dialog. Nothing you do in it affects the rest of RM. The OK button is the way to close it.

The idea behind the Protocol Editor was to provide a UI for creating protocols.ini entries. You enter information about the protocol, and then press the View button to see the generated protocols.ini entry. This could be copy-n-pasted into protocols.ini.

The Protocol Editor is incomplete.
