|
|
I've recently found some remotes with JP1.1 and JP1.2 labels on the board next to the connector. They don't seem to work with my simple JP1 cable. I would really like to use them as they have all the buttons I need. Any suggestions/information? |

We haven't yet figured out how to access the new chip used in the JP1.1 and 1.2 remotes. _________________ Mark |

I doubt that we'll ever be able to work with the JP1.1 remotes as they've already been discontinued, but maybe the JP1.2 remotes will be hacked someday. _________________ Rob

It probably won't make too much difference to you under the circumstances, but not all remotes with a JP1.1 designation will fall into the forever-orphaned category. There is one cable remote (I forget the model, but Rob knows it) that is marked JP1.1 that uses an oddball chip that he is referring to. I have seen other remotes, such as the half-Kameleon RS-2144, that are marked JP1.1 but are really JP1.2 remotes. In either case, at this point in time, neither type is supported by JP1 tools. _________________ Mike England |

I don't recall the model number but it's a Comcast cable remote and it's got a model number that begins with URC-1???? _________________ Rob
