ESA Plasma TV, Uploading Code

Post by Hadron »

I bought an ESA (Samsung rebrand for CircuitCity) plasma TV as an 'open box' special and it didn't come with a remote. I bought an URC8910 remote to use in place of the original. OneForAll email support says the code for this TV is 0812 which is not in the remote by default.

Since support is closed for the weekend I thought I might solder up my own connector and do it myself. After reading through the documentation and looking at the keymap-master excel file, it looks like knowing the code 0812 will not be enough to construct the upgrade. Am I correct?

Thanks for any tips or comments.

Yes.

Basically you are asking for a Code Search and the way to do it in this forum is to read the FAQ and use the template within it. To get you started, I have noted that several Samsungs use the protocol NEC2, device 7, subdevice 7 and have collected a few together in this file. The numbers refer to OBC codes which you can enter into KM or RM to build an upgrade.

Nice to see another subatomic particle on this forum, BTW :) .

TV/0812 is a varient of the basic Samsung TV code set that Underquark mentioned, so you could get very close using the file he provided.

It probably has enough similarity to the old Samsung setup code TV/0060 that you should be able to get a moderate fraction of the functions working using TV/0060.
