JP1 Remotes

I created a upgrade for my radioshack 15-2116 remote and I loaded it and some of the buttons wouldn't work. I got the right code for the buttons and the work fine. When I tried to reset the remote it says restore ram to e2 what does that mean. Everything works fine but I was wondering how to restore it to factory setting. One more question do you leave all the codes for the devices that you already have on your remote when you upload to the remote or do you start with a fresh page in ir programing and just load that device.

That message about e2 is normal and just telling you it is copying some stuff over to the rom.

To do a full mfg reset do the following

- Press and hold SETUP until screen reads "CODE SET"
- Press RECORD
- Follow instructions on LCD

Remember this will wipe out anything you have set in the remote so it is best to download first if you want to use it as the starting point..

Now, when you upload an IR file to the remote it replaces everything in the remote so nothing will be left behind. So, whatever device codes you want set must be set in the IR file.
