JP1 Remotes

Using Radio-Shack 15-2117 with JP1
Using Extender3, so no learning.

I flashed remote to factory defaults, learned the following code for a Sylvania Allegro remote controlled A/B Switch

PROTOCOL=F12
DEVICE=3
SUBDEVICE=1
OBC=64

The other code learned is the same, except OBC=32.

Ok.. so here is the actual question.

I have plenty of open devices, how do I add the learned signal to my Extended jp1 file? I am used to EFC codes, but that is using built-in remote codes.. how do I add this one? I cannot figure out how to add it as a device or anything.

Do you have ANY device upgrades? Have you used Keymap Master and/or RemoteMaster? You can just build a device upgrade using the data you provided.

In either KM or RM, build a device with protocol F12, Device 3 and create the two functions you need. (The only part I can't explain is there appears to be no option for a "subdevice" with this protocol.)

But even simpler than that, the 2117 has four built-in device codes that use this protocol/device combination. Just assign any of the following device codes to one of your unsused device buttons. Or - potentially more logically, since you're using the extender, just create two Keymoves in IR calling on any of the following Device codes:
CD/280, CD/536, CD/559, or Vid Acc/160.

The above information can be found in THIS spreadsheet that Robman has put in the File section.

Those should be CD/0280, CD/0536, CD/0559, or Vid Acc/0160.

Mark is, of course, correct (although on the 2116/2117 you can omit leading zeros when entering device codes )

My apologies... I didn't know that.

I was just trying to fend off another post saying the codes were rejected by the remote. I'll go stand in the corner for a while...

Thanks alot guys... the Vid Acc/160 code was what I needed.. now I can just use a keymove.

I understand most of JP1, but not the device creation, or the spreadsheet stuff no matter how hard I try.. So I really appreachiate the help, you saved me from immense studying and head banging. Thanks!
