Hi,
I am new in the JP1 area, I just entered to that since I just have bought my new OFA 9910.

I have an AV receiver Pioneer VSX-D814 and the code 1023 does not work well, only Volume, power, mute and input select function.

Since the 9910 has the ability to learn only about 20 keys, I can not operate my AV receiver from the 9910.

I going to built the JP1 cable.
Which software should I use in order to communicate with the 9910?
more tip will be great.

Thanks,
Shmulik Weinstein

You use IR.EXE to communicate with your remote via the JP1 cable.
You use RemoteMaster (or Keymap Master) to create an "upgrade" based upon existing and learned codes which you can then send back to your remote.

The memory in your remote is basically split into three areas - Macros/Keymoves, Upgrades, Learning. Learning a code takes up a lot of memory which is why you are limited to about 20 to 25 keys. Upgrades are more compact and you can pack a large number of codes into this area (easily enough for 8 different devices - TV, DVD, CR etc.).

IR.EXE decodes the learned signals which you can then remove from the Learned area of the remote allowing you to learn again until you have all the codes. Once you have all the codes you use RemoteMaster etc. to create the upgrade for sending back to the (Upgrade area of) the remote.

See "Read this thread first":

Then try it out.

Look also in the File section of this forum as someone may have already done most of the work for you. Indeed, there appear to be many Pioneer upgrades as follows:

Hi again,
I have connected the PC to the remote and use the IR, I can see all the codes, macros and learning code in the remote.
How can I save the learn codes to my PC?

Use the "Save As..." item on the File menu.
