Tommy has decided to quit the JP1 group and persue other projects, so I thought I'd take this chance to express appreciation to him for all the great work he did for the group while he was here.

For those that don't know, Tommy was our hardware expert. Among his many contributions to the group, he's the one who invented the popular "Simple Interface" that most of you are using.

Feel free to post your own comments, etc...

To me he's much more than that. He's a dear friend that has gone out of his way many times to help me, and not just with JP1. He's been more patient with me and my stupid questions than I deserve. Wink And his sense of humor is second to none once you get to know him.

He used me as a guinea pig when he developed his serial interface and even supplied me with his first IR capture device. I've worked with him on several projects behind the scenes.

If he really leaves us, it will be a big hole to fill. Hopefully, he'll reconsider or at least stop in once in a while to keep us in line! Wink

Wow, I hate to see Tommy leave us. I recognize his significant contribution over the years and know the jp1 community will miss him severely.

I can't believe he is that scared of the new remotes that much that he has to leave Laughing

This is truly sad news. It was because of Tommy's interface designs that I got into jp1 stuff in the first place.

Thanks for all of your contributions Tommy and good luck in your future endeavors.
