I can successfully use http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1-de/files/Testdateien/dBox2_urc9910.txt in an OFA 7560 and a dreambox (Uei Omega) remote.
However the vital lame/exit code is missing from the upgrade.
So I learn the code in the 7560 and get:
# Device Button Key Protocol Device SubDevice OBC Hex Cmd EFC Misc Note
14 CD AV{Exit_20} Nokia 13 64 159 9F 182
I am now lost - how do I turn this into an OBC, EFC or hex cmd that works, none of the values listed works for me in KeyMaster.
Also RM says this upgrade - the selected protocol ... is not compatible, why & what to do?

I by no means know the dreambox. It looks to me like in rm change the protocol to nokia quad device 1 is 13 device 2 is 64 and efc is 182. Maybe some of the experts will see this post in a bit.

What Greg has done is load the custom protocol KM upgrade into RM, and then just add the EFC number from the decode, apparently assuming the executor of this custom protocol processes EFC numbers the same way that DecodeIr expects the standard Nokia executor to. It might, but I wouldn't bet on it.
Assuming it doesn't work, and assuming no expert who knows the inner workings of that custom protocol jumps in, the next logical step is to learn a few signals from this upgrade into a different JP1 remote and decode them and see:
1) If this upgrade generates Nokia signals
2) If there is any obvious correspondence between the EFC in the upgrade and the one in the decode and/or between the OBC in the upgrade and the one in the decode.
Anyone with a JP1 learning remote and a second JP1 remote could do that. I might get to myself around Monday if no one else does. But Plugin seems to have two JP1 remotes and has the vested interest in the results. |

Yes that works
Many thanks to everyone.
Is this a little known protocol? It is available as a download from the OFA site, I think I got it over the phone through the modem capability. Also in the file from jp1-de.
This remote is, I think, the most common in the major German cable and sat subscriber service (Premiere).
Strange that the other functions use Hex 00-18 but this one key is 9F.
Now to sort out the codes for the Sony IDTV.

Good to see you got it working. I figured if anyone could these guys could.
If while surfing those Eu code sites you happen to see a file for the Philips dvdr520h dvd recorder would you please post here so I can take a look at it. I am trying to get 2 codes that seem to be in that recorder that is not in its sister recorders here in the states but should be. |
