You have a learning remote and you're a JP1 user, so when you get the receiver if you get it) use the learning feature of the URC-7800 to capture the signals and create an upgrade yourself.
What good would having an upgrade now do you if you don't have the receiver?

I am in the process of programming a URC-9910 for Coolsat...

...and so far, have the 4 "learning" buttons on the remote successfully programmed for "guide", "up", "down" and "select (OK)", which is enough for the wife to use the remote for now.
Furthermore, a specific DVD code set ("Konka") does make the Coolsat respond, albeit incompletely.
So, I'm sure the remote can be completely programmed for the Coolsat. I just have to apply the 90% perspiration...
I'd encourage you to get the Coolsat. You won't be the least bit disappointed.

Are you under the impression that you can only learn to the learning buttons, if so that is a false impression, you can learn to almost all of them.fsnertz wrote:...and so far, have the 4 "learning" buttons on the remote successfully programmed for "guide", "up", "down" and "select (OK)", which is enough for the wife to use the remote for now.
Then, if you download the memory using IR.exe it will show you what the signals look like, which is what you need to know to create an upgrade for the device.

Yeah - just found this out...
Yep - I just found out that *all* the keys are programmable, not just the select 4 buttons that the manual said.
SO... I'm happy to say that the 9910 is the PERFECT low-cost remote for acting as a second Coolsat controller - and with the RF unit, even works through walls!
Thanks for the comment...

I don't see an upgrade file for the Coolsat in the file section, so please load a copy of your upgrade file there when it's done.

I think it's safe to say that both of the Coolsat users in this thread dropped the ball and didn't create an upgrade, so the task now falls to you. Could you please fill in the template so we best know how to help you.flight_ace wrote:if anyone finished the upgrade file for Coolsat 4000, please upload it...

I actually would not mind, but the remote I picked to learn on doesn't have learning ability... I have the URC-6012 moded with eeprom... it all works fine, but no learning ability...the task now falls to you
I have extra eeproms, I guess I need to find a learning all in one to JP1 mod it so I can do this...

re: coolsat 4000 codes
I tried that code on my 8811 but it only has a few functions, doesn't change channels unless you manually punch the #rs in
