Centrios EDW8020 DVD Recorder - Need help please.

5. Still have original remote? yes
6. Checked the file section? yes
7. Checked the Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
8. Partially working setup code? no
9. Learning remote question?

The only way I can get my RCU810 to learn a code from the recorder remote is to hold down the recorder remote button, then tell the RCU810 to learn it. Otherwise, the RCU810 just gives me an error.
