I learned what I could on my 7800 then created the upgrade, but some of the keys still don't work. I get the numbers, CH+-, TV/VID and some others. I cannot get Vols, Mute, Menu or PIP. Here is my work so far

If i switch to the standard 6131 i get to vols and mute. If i use the 6131 w/extender in lose the vols and mute. I must be close. Thanks in advance.

There are two seperate problems.

1) For the pip commands, the OBC number is greater than 63. RC5 protocol requires special handling for OBC numbers greater than 63:

1a) On KM's setup sheet, in the Device2 field, put 100

1b) On KM's Functions sheet, in the byte2 column of each row whose OBC is greater than 63, put 1.

2) The Vol and Mute problem must be VPT. Since you didn't include the other IR.EXE file (the one in which you installed and tested this upgrade) I can't give exact instructions for fixing that.

I'll try it

Thanks for the byte2 info. I started heading down that path but didn't quite understand where I was going.

I started a new file (which I almost never do) and I didn't even look at the VPT setting. My bad. I'll check it tonight and repost if I don't have better success.

Thanks.

Since you're using the extender, I think the VPT would be controlled by the V_ commands within your device select macros, rather than by the normal VPT settings.

I'm familiar w/the V_ etc... from when I set up the extender on the remotes in my family room. I'm still embarrassed I didn't even consider that. Especially when it worked under the non-extended version.

That worked. Thanks again.
