I just received a USB interface cable and cannot make it work. Two different computers, same problem.
I searched all the postings and have tried w/o batteries, with a battery reversed, plug the connector both ways.
No matter what it just doesn't like it. I bought the USB so I could use it on my laptop, alas......

Are you trying this on Windows or Mac?
Are your USB ports enabled and properly configured on the PC/laptop?
Do you have the correct driver installed?
Do you have USB checked in IR's Interface menu?
Is Auto Check enabled on the Interface menu? If so, try unchecking it.

Both. Same results. Windows on laptop as well as desktop. Both using XP.

Yes. Is there something specific to look for in the setup.

Delcom driver in both cases.
Mark Pierson wrote:Do you have USB checked in IR's Interface menu?.
Yes

Tried that already. I can't help but think there is something missing unless the cable is bad.

It's possible the interface is bad. Have you said in other posts that you've used a USB cable before? If so, is this a new one? Does the old one work?

I'm not ignoring you, it's just that I've never used a USB cable so I am not qualified to help in any way. I suspect that the majority of people here are using the Simple interface also, which is why the pool of people that can help you is extremely limited.

Especially when their homemade USB interface has worked perfectly on every PC they ever tried it on!

Not home made. Purchased from one of our vendors. Trying to troubleshoot before sendinf back.
I guess I don't have much choice but to send it back.

Have you asked the vendor if they have any suggestions? I know that Tom (from Filebug) has tried helping people with USB issues before.

Yes. Tom did not have any suggestions other than to send it back. So I will.
