The Emerson device number encoded in the signal is 40. But the setup code that controls it is VCR/0000.gadgettinker wrote: I have found a setup code that controls some functions, Code 40
Is that what you meant or are you confused about how setup codes fit in, or what?
Which functions don't work in VCR/0000?
Have you tried the advanced codes list for VCR/0000

Got it. Greg is right that it's more polite for you to provide a URL, but the new diagnosis folder is much friendlier about telling us which files are new than the Yahoo one was, so I had no trouble. Other experts may be more insistent that you follow proceedure.gadgettinker wrote: The remote is a learning remote and I have the original remote, However several of the learned keys produce a signal that can,t be decoded by IR. I have placed the learned keys in the Diaginostics folder.
The ones that don't decode are pretty bad learns. I can't tell for sure whether that is caused by weak batteries in the Emerson remote or by wrong distance between the two remotes during learning.
You can try again to get clean learns with new batteries and/or more careful about the distance. But what are you trying to accomplish? These all seem to be basic functions which must be right in VCR/0000 and whose EFC numbers are listed in Devices4.xls and in that page of VCR/0000 advanced codes. What do you want to get from learned signals?
