What can i do with this remote ?
If found this on the yahoo group :
URC-7542 is silver version of URC-7540. They are both European
remotes. They have complete IR support, no KeymapMaster support,
but instead you can use RemoteMaster (java replacement for KM)
To become JP1 compatible URC-7540 needs JP1 header, EEPROM 24C16,
J12 wire and capacitor C11 (0.1uF). Probbably it is the same for URC-7542.
So i made it and it seems to work. (When i set code 0012 for VCR in IR) and make MAGIC(long) 990 to check entered code, remote answer me
0012 !!!
I've tried a keymove and it's work.
Wich rdf to use ?
Is it a way to make something like a factory reset to write signature on the EEPROM ?
Or i force the rdf 7540-7542 ?
Thanks... |

I've made a reset 981 and downloaded EEPROM content.
Here is what i got :
0000: 6D 92 45 4D 41 49 45 4D 41 30 01 C7 10 25 20 48
0010: 20 A7 01 09 FF 00 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
0020: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
[...]
00F0: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
0100: 01 04 01 04 00 00 FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
0110: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
[...]
07F0: FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF
It is the same signature as the rdf called URC-7540/7542
VPT status and Sleep status are on the same place
I've tried own KM spreadshit based on URC-7541 model with a protocol already included in the remote and it works.
When i try load new protocol to the remote and try it, the remote get stuck (red light stay lighted...)
is it possible to load new protocol ?
How to know processor S3C8 ? S3C8+ ?????
Mybe the protocol i downloaded is not for that remote ??? |

The final digit in the model number is usually used to denote the colour of the remote. In these cases, the remote itself is otherwise totally identical to the other remotes that share the similar model numbers.
That being the case, you can select URC-7541 in KM. _________________ Rob

Rob, I may be wrong but I thought the 7540 and 7542 are identical except for color (7542 being silver) but the 7541 is very different. The general section of the RDF convinces me of that.
So choosing the 7540 or 7542 should work for him since they share the same RDF. _________________ Nils

Nils, you are right.
The 7540 and 7542 are of the same family (no JP1 connector but holes, no EEPROM). The 7542 is the most recent model and has a silver color, while the 7540 is the previous, black model. The both are called "One for all 4" and have the same signature (EMAIEMA0).
The 7541 and 7544 are of another family (JP1 connector, 1k or 2k EEPROM). The 7544 is the most recent model and has a silver color, while the 7541 is the previous, black model. The both are called "One for all 4 Digital" and have the same signature (EO40EO40).

You're right, this does appear to be the case, and furthermore KM only supports the 7541, not the 7540/7452 so RM is the best option. _________________ Rob

In my next update of RDF's and maps I will be including updates so people will see the correct image for their remote, black for the 7540 and 7541 and silver for the 7542 and 7544. Right now I am using the silver for all models. _________________ Nils

Tell us about the bugs you are seeing in RM so they can be corrected. What version of RM are you using? What version of the RDF's are you using? And anything else descriptive of the problems. _________________ Nils

Nils while you are at it, you could also consider the situation of the 7560 (black) and 7562 (silver). Unfortunately, the most recent 7560s (B01 revision, black) have the same signature as the 7562 (silver), so a third RDF might be needed.

The next release of KM ( 7.58 ) will have 7540/7542 support. _________________ Mark |

I have found a small bug in KM 7.58.
In 7540 button SLEEP=$83 is a part of SAT and TV keymaps.
There are two sleep buttons on Buttons sheet for URC-7540:
Shift-power which works well and sleep which doesn't. |
