RemoteMaster fails to save button definitions

I was just about to post my first ever upgrade file and I noticed that not all the buttons I had intended were showing. Which was a puzzle as they work on the remote !

I posted the file at :
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... ystem.rmdu

If one opens this file in RM, then assign "CD music skip >>|" to the "UP" button and "CD music skip |<<" to the "DOWN" button, then the output is an upgrade that works just fine.

Now save the file, and open it again. The "UP" and "DOWN" buttons are free again !

I had been warned that RM was a work in progress, but in fact I'm HUGELY impressed with it. I hope this bug report helps to polish it even more

p.s. Even as I type this I notice that the saved file uses a lot of the "|" character, and I used that in my button name (because ">>|" best represents the symbol on the button on the original remote). I'll try knocking the symbols out of my button definitions and report back.

yep, that fixed it

Yes, as soon as I got rid of the "|" symbol in the button definitions I got a file that would save and restore the same way.

I guess to make it idiot-proof (=Andy proof) the use of the "|" symbol would need to be disallowed on the Functions tab.
