learn in 15-1994

Post by mikewv100 »

I just bought a D-Link nedia center dsm-320. I am trying to learn the codes with my 15-1994 Everything I try to learn blinks only once . Does this mean that I cannot learn this remote?

First off, what's the status of the 15-1994's learning memory? If you already have some learned signals in there, you should save your memory and then reset the remote using 981 (or delete the learned signals in IR and reload), then try re-learning the D-Link.

Are you sure that the D-Link remote is an IR remote? Is there an obvious IR window at the front of it? Can you use the remote from another room and it still works? If so, it's an RF remote and you won't be able to learn it's signals.

If it is an IR remote, are you sure you're using the correct learning procedure?

1) Arrange the two remotes head to head
2) Hold SETUP (the green P), 2 flashes
3) Type 975, 2 flashes
4) Tap a button on the 15-1994, the LED will start flashing rapidly
5) Hold a button on the D-Link remote (the 15-1994's LED will stop flashing, but you should keep holding the D-Link button down until the red LED flashes twice for success, or once for failure.
6) If successful, repeat steps 4 and 5 for other buttons

Ok I learned most of the codes that I would use. Where can I find something to tell me where to go from here to start an upgrade code?

First things first, what was the original problem that you were having? Saying what it was and how you resolved it might help the next person who's experiencing a similar problem.

Next, decoding what you've learned, read this...

Also, please post a copy of your IR file in the Diagnosis Area so we can take a look at it also. (But first, read the "how to post links" thread, or you'll post a bad link)

dsm-320

The original problem was solved by clearing remote. I learned most of the codes and it saved. I have a few that are blinking but nothing is showing up in learned buttons. Is there a chance that it may work the other buttons will save the second time around?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand your question. Do any of the learned signals actually work? If so, download your memory and you will be able to see the signals in the learned signals tab.
