Has anybody started doing the codes for the "iLo" brand of DVD+RW set-top recorder that can be found at 'WalMart.com'
While not the best recorder on the market.. but for such a low price and needing to replace a VHS recorder that had died..... it makes a nice replacement!
IF it is already in the files area ... where ??
DVD, PVR or VHS??

Are you just thinking of buying the device, or do you already have it? If you have it, and you have a JP1 learning remote, then it's up to you to create an upgrade for it.
The proper place for the upgrade file is the DVD folder.

Rob - I already have the device in question.. but I did not really want to go to all the trouble and create the upgrade "'IF'" somebody elase had already created one...
Just being lazy...

Now now David, laziness is not a well thought of commodity around here, not when so many of us are putting in so much work to help you guys, is it really too much to ask you to spend 10 or 20 minutes to help yourself.

Hey I was just being honest about it....
I will start "training" my remote in the morning and see what happens.
But the question still stands.... which file library would I want to upload to?
I think that you might want to start a new listing for Set-Top DVD Recorders and not have them in PVR or standard DVD listings.

And my original answer still stands: "The proper place for the upgrade file is the DVD folder."
As the need arises I do create new folders for things and move over any relevant files, and all these combo devices do make it difficult to decide the correct place for everything, but a device like this is still just a DVD player as far as I can tell, so I still think the regular DVD folder is the correct place.

OK I just uploaded version 0.01 for 15-2104 of the codes for the 'iLoDVDR04' set-top DVD-Recorder that can now be found at most Wal-Marts in the US and online for less than $150.00
I have a feeling that I may have typo's or something might not be entered correctly...
One of the things that had me for a loop is that the that the codes seem to auto repeat when a key has pressed a key on the OEM remote so I only entered into the data base the first command set.
If you find an error or find a better assignment for the keys please correct them and upload the corrections.
This command set should also work with the "LiteOn LVW-5101" found at most 'Sam's Clubs' for less than #140.00 as these are sister machines.

I was curious what a "set top box" type of DVD player would actually look like, so for those interested here's a nice pic...
And here's one of the remote itself...

Just FYI, this player uses the same signals as those sent by the DVD/0558 and DVD/0623 setup codes, but the EFCs are completely different. I'm mentioning this just in case some non-JP1 user wants to be able to control this player. To do this you would use one of those setup codes and then re-program the buttons using the EFCs from David's file.

This may seem like i'm bumping an old thread but if anyone is interested, ILO also have a nice DVD Recorder with a 80gig hard drive. It goes for about $279 and is also at Walmart. I know what ya'll are thinking, "Walmart?", yep and the reviews on this unit are surprisingly good. There are some initial problems with the unit but you can download a firmware upgrade at their help site
www.ilohelp.com and it fixes almost everything.
I just bought the unit, I also have a Kameleon 9960 and waiting on my JP1 kit to arrive to start this JP1 biz. Once I get it all figured out, i'll be doing an upgrade for this unit and uploading it. The model is DVDRHD04.
I have to give alot of KUDO's to everyone who's working this JP1 thing, i'm highly impressed with everything.
In 10 minutes I was able to tear apart my new 9960 and disable the motion sensor and as soon as everything else arrives, I think i'll be dangerous.
Thanks

If anyone is interested, i've uploaded my first version of an upgrade file for the ILO DVDRHD04 (ILO DVD Recorder with 80gig hard drive) in the DVD folder.
This is for the 9960 remote and now that I know it works, i'm going to re-arrange some of the buttons so it makes better sense.
Do I upload a corrected version to the same folder? Will it replace the old one or will it add it?
Thanks
Spuds

If you click on the edit tab and then use the BROWSE button to re-load the file, it will replace the old one (which is what you want it to do).
