URC-9960: Strange behaviour of MENU key

Now for something completely different. I noticed that if I program menu to the menu button in TV mode, after using scroll to view the next page, the menu is no longer assigned, is it supposed to do that?

Could you describe, step by step, what you did and what happened at each point. If you are using an upgrade that you loaded into the remote, could you post it please, so we can see what's assigned to each button.
Maybe someone with a URC-9960 can try and re-create the problem.

Hi.
I am using the update:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... _extra.txt. This update i made from the original remote + there are some extra keys from The Robman.
I uploaded the update to the remote and started using. In the screen that comes on when i enter the TV mode, the menu works as menu. If a "scroll" in the TV device to the next view, the menu key doesn't work anymore. If i scroll back to the "start" view, the menu works as before. I should mention, that the menu key works only in the default view, not in any other scrolled view in TV mode.
Maby i should try to reset (code 981) the remote, and upload again. I just don't see how that helps, sence it allways resets the remote when i upload a new image from IR ?
Hmm, i don't know how more precise can i be in this point ?

That's good, I understand what you are describing. I wil need to experiment with a URC-9960 to see if I can re-produce this, but all my 9960s are boxed up right now, so I won't be able to get to this until this evening (unless someone else gets to it first)

I can confirm that in one of the TV screens "menu" does not work. I will have to test it and see why. Or maybe you can try something. Try learning something to the menu button on the screen it is not working on. If you are able to learn to it in that screen then download to IR and see what if any key it assigns the learn to. It may be that in that particular screen the menu is something else and we missed it when we created the RDF.

New info on this one.
The screen where the menu does not work, is the second screen on TV mode on the URC-9960 (second = press the scroll once), with arrow keys visible, but not the PiP keys. The same keys again work on the third screen on TV mode, with arrow keys and PiP controls visible.
And the MENU key is not the only one not working. Also GUIDE, INFO and EXIT do not work.
I tryed to learn some basic functions to those keys on that screen, and the remote learded them ok. On IR.exe, the learned signals seem to be on the buttons TV:Guide, TV:Info, TV:Menu, TV:Exit (as they normally should be). BUT ... When i try the mentioned buttons on the default screen on TV mode, they work as the learned keys, not the original coded keys. Also they work as the learned keys on the screen they did not work earlyer (second) AND they no NOT work at all on the third screen (where they did work as the coded keys before the IR learn).
Now, i am all

Any new info on correcting this "bug" ?
Please read the reply before this for more info.
Best regards, Marko.

Hey Jerma/Marco,
I've got an idea. Could you try programming a macro that includes the faulty MENU button, then download the memory and see if it shows up as the MENU button or something else. This would help us try and track down what's going on.
However, be prepared for the fact that it might just be a bug that we can't do anything about. For example, in AUDIO mode, in certain screens the SELECT button becomes the SURROUND button, but the keycode never changes, so it always sends the "surround" signal.

update.
I made a macro including the GUIDE, INFO, MENU and EXIT buttons on all different screens on TV mode.
The buttons apear on the macro as they should (as GUIDE, INFO, MENU and EXIT) on the first and second screens, but on the third they do not come up in the macro at all. (there is some difference in what screen the buttons don't work, but might be, because in a macro, the screen has to be pushed twice at the first time, right ?)
I'v noticed that when pushing the not-working buttons (on the screen they do not work on) the remote doesn't seem to send any signal out, because it doesn't animate the outgoing signal. Is this so, cause the remote thinks there are are no functions put to those buttons ?
Oh, and my name is Marko (with K) and my nick in Jerma
