I have an All for One URC 8017 and I am having a heck of a time getting it going. I have done the following.
- Purchased a JP1 Cable and connected it to my LPT1 Port.
- solder the pins into the remote and tested the connections.
- Downloaded and installed the IR511 software.
- Put the RDf File in the same DIR as the IR Executable
- set the Transmision Delay to 100, 250, 750, 1000, 1600, 3200, 4800
- Studied the JP1_For_Beginners_Rev1.1.pdf (Very well Written)
- I have searched and read every post I could find on this site regarding errors.
I am getting a "No Response from the Remote" weather or not I have a remote hooked up to the cable. If I reverse the cable I get a different message. "No response from the interfase..."
What else can I try? Has anyone gotten the 8017 to read?
Thanks for any help |

I hope our documentation didn't mislead you about this. The 8017 needs an eeprom and a jumper added as well as the 6 pin connector. |

Thank you for the response, and that makes things clear.
I hope I am not breaking any rules with asking which remotes work the best with this program. Is there a list somewhre?
thank you |

Frankly all of the ones with a JP1 connector do. The ones with learning, and can accept keymoves, macros, device upgrades, and protocol upgrades are the best. I believe the remotechart.xls sheet lists features deficiencies of the remotes. |
