convert wave-file back to ir

Is there a tool to convert a wave-file back to an ir-file?
I recently got some upgrade wave-files from the one-for-all download side and I'm just wondering what it contains.

If you have the right model remote for the .wav file you can load it into the remote and then download the eeprom image to IR.EXE and then read out the contents in the devices tab.
If you don't have the right model remote, and also have no better source for IR data you need, you can post a .wav file in the diagnosis folder and someone will figure out the contents for you.
It might be easier if you tell us the setup code number and the brand, type and model of the device. We probably already have the data in more convenient form.

You are right there is some times an easier way to do the job.
I got my URC 8060 only 3 days ago and just about to learn what I can do with it. But soon I'll be back in this forum I think.
