JP1 Remotes

Help I'm new, I purchased a JP1-USB cable and downloaded the files I thought I needed, when I open JP.exe the drop down box that would show the type of connection I have does not have USB active and if I try to download from the remote I an get error message "unable to find Delcom device driver"

When you plugged your USB cable in did your computer prompt you to install the drivers?

No, didn't get asked any questions, when itry to test connection I get message "Delcom device driver not found

Did you get the cable from Filebug.com?

Did you download the drivers and unzip them?

Get them from http://jp1.filebug.com/files/USBIODS.zip

Unzip the file to your IR directory. Plug in your usb cable. It should prompt you to search for the drivers. Select the option to manually install the drivers and point it to the IR directory. Once the driver is installed, start IR and select USB on the interface menu.

I did what you asked and didn't get a response from the software to manualy install driver

Make sure you have the USB cable plugged in
Go to the Start Menu
Select Control Panels
Select Add New Hardware
Click on the "Next" tab
Select "Add/Troubleshoot a device" and click next
After the hardware device is done searching, select "Add New Device" and click next
Selct "No, I want to select the hardware from a list" and click next
You should see something for USB devices select it and click next (if not select other devices)
Select "Have Disk" and navigat to the Delcom Driver
Follow the rest of the prompts to install the driver.

You may have to restart but it should work fine
