Just for my info, do these 2 commands actually work?

I've just done some experiments using IR v5.15 and here's what you need to do to program these keymoves. Go through the normal process of adding a keymove (and assigning it to a shifted button in this case), then select the HEX radio button and enter the hex codes specified below.

IR will display the incorrect hex data afterwards, but it will use the right hex data in the keymove itself. However, if you ever edit any of these keymoves after the fact, IR will put the same incorrect hex data into the edit box, so you will need to replace it with the correct hex codes listed below.

Yes I know this is convoluted, but the original author of IR is currently working on a new version where this will all be handled properly.

4F C4 - Easy Timer
16 C4 - Navi Mark
5B C0 - Off
57 C0 - On
81 C4 - Record Mode
11 C5 - Record Stop

1) "Scan Forward2 (122 5)" does the same thing that "Scan Forward (036 0)" does, and "Scan Back2 (124 5)" is the same as "Scan Reverse (037 0)" -- so those aren't needed.

2) I've tried it twice, but the shift functions aren't working. Here's how I'm entering them - am I doing it right?

That looks like you're doing it right, so if it's not working either I generated the wrong codes or the 6131 does have full 2-byte functionality.

Any way we can check if the codes were wrong? If it has this 2-byte func, what will this mean — am I out of luck?

Unless you have a JP1 learning remote which you can use to capture what's actually being sent, you'll have to wait until I can load this into a 6131 and try learning the signals myself to see what went wrong.

Yeah! I picked up an 8810 (that's how I got the codes for some of those other buttons.) What do I need to do?

I assume Rob means you should load the upgrade into a 6131, then learn some commands from the 6131 into the 8810, then download the 8810 contents to the PC and examine the learned signals to see what is wrong with them.

You may need to post the file of those signals for an expert to say what is wrong.

Exactly. Program the keymoves using the hex codes that I posted and load them into the 6131. Then learn the keymoves using the 8810w. Finally, post both IR files so one of us can compare the two.

If possible, learn the buttons to the same buttons on the 8810w that the keymoves are programmed to on the 6131.

Here's those IR files for comparison:

6131 shifted

I used all the same buttons, except for "Navi Mark" which was on the Replay button on the 6131 -- it's on "L1" on the 8810. (btw, the 8810 doesn't have a "w" on it's model number -- it says "8810B00" on the battery cover... hope that doesn't matter!)

Looking at your results seems to confirm that the URC-6131 doesn't support the new 2-byte EFC5 structure. Each of those learns simply used the EFC derived from the 2nd byte and ignored the data in the first byte.

So, the only way to program these keymoves is to create a second upgrade which contains all the functions that you want to use in keymoves, and then program key-copies from that upgrade onto the shifted buttons. (by "key-copies", I mean when you copy a button from one location to another, as opposed to using advanced codes).

The easiest way to do this (at this time) is to program the key-copies on the remote itself.
