JP1 Remotes

Ah!! I almost have everything ready to be programed on my "new"/cheap/discontinued RS 15-2117... All I am missing are the codes for the Epson 735c Projector.

This is a very simple remote controller, and I could use the "learning mode" but I would like to used the memory left to do a couple of macros.

Any suggestions?

The memory for learning is seperate from the memory for macros, so filling one has no effect on the other.

But JP1 users normally use the learning just to decode and identify the signals, so the memory use is temporary: Learn the signals, download and save (in case of questions later) that eeprom image and examine the decode information, then delete the learned signals from the remote.

I couldn't find anything for your exact model. So you need to learn a few commands to see if that matches any known command set (I only found two) and they use very different commands. I also have some decoding of a very unusual set of commands, but I can't find the original ccf.

So if it has numerals, please learn 0 through 9. If not four or five commands will give us a start.

Ok... I received the cable and I kinda familiar with now... I "trained" to control the projector with 10 commands and tested them. So, how do I get the code to you?

Save the file with the learned signals in IR and upload it to the Diagnosis folder. Then post a link to it here (be sure to read the message about posting file links).

Those are NEC2 protocol, device 131, subdevice 85. It's very easy to build an upgrade for. I'm not sure if any built in setup code exists (or if you cared).

The same device/subdevice number but NEC1 protocol is in CML files we have for JVC Video Projector LXD5000 and Infocus Systems Video Projector TVT6000.

I wouldn't be surprised if the CML files were wrong about NEC1 vs. NEC2, but the OBCs might not match. Actually I think the OBCs in those two projectors in CCF files don't match each other. Your menu command is the same OBC as JVC projector's menu command, but that could be just conincidence.

Did you learn keys onto to buttons with the same name as the original keys?

Anyway, if we can't find a match to some model we already know it isn't hard to just find all the OBC numbers by learning (in batches if they don't all fit in learning memory) and create a new upgrade.

No, I tried to match them to some of the keys, I think the off/on are not map to the on/off. I will check on that one.

Let me load those up and see what happens... I will try them out tonight.

I have to admit it... I was not able to find how to use the CML... but! I "learned" and map the keys from the remote and have been using it for a couple of weeks with no problems... YEAH!!

Now the question is how do I create a upgrade device so I can share it?

You use KM or RM. You enter the protocol and device information on the setup sheet (I assume still NEC2, 131, 85). You enter the function names and corresponding EFC or OBC on the functions sheet. Etc.
