Onkyo TX-NR901 receiver and RC-549M remote JP1 remote?
has anyone had any dealings with the above item. The remote seems to be capable of using JP1 software (has connector). its seems to be a full function RF and learning remote for the TX-NR901 receiver. This is my son's new toy and wonder how to get it to work with JP!. thanks in advance Stu

If it has the connector, try downloading the memory and see what happens.

I took a look at your file. FYI, it's usually best to post a link to the file (after reading the Posting Links message) so that people can find it quickly without having to search for it.
My first guess is that it's NOT a JP1 remote since the EEPROM data seems strange to say the least. Even the typical signature bytes are weird: 03 04 18 FF 01 47 01 FF
If it is a JP1 remote, it might be one with the new EEPROM format that Rob has mentioned, but since I've never seen one of them, I can't say for sure.

Sorry about not posting the Yahoo link hadn't read the posting file before
it would be
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/jp1/files ... ea/RC-549M Onkyo remote.zip
or the shorter one you had in your post ( have to try that later.)
Guess I was wrong thanks for looking at the file. Stu
